We solve the PRODUCTIVITY Problem with Technological Intelligence

Definition: Intelligence is the capability to solve problems.

With this definition, there is no functional difference between diverse hardware realizations of intelligent systems. We may state Biological Intelligence (BI) as an evolutionary product by nature and Technological Intelligence (TI) as an evolutionary product by technology. They both differ just by the means they have been implemented, but their function and purpose remain the same. Nevertheless, since we understand BI as a comprehensive solution not bound to one specific task, like we see it today with AI, TI can be equally to BI understood as a comprehensive system to solve complex tasks with many different aspects to be considered.

Such systems are also often described as General Intelligence (GI), not primarily bound to specific tasks. Nevertheless, each GI has also to train special knowledge and skills in order to accurately and reliable come forward with meaningful solutions of problems in our daily or work life. Such GI, may it be BI or TI has to have a common perception of the physical things and abstract concepts surrounding it, the so-called worldview.

In fact, Large Language Models (LLM) which are trained based on a broad variety of every day data from the internet appear to have a worldview. They inhere the many thoughts and perceptions of the authors of papers, posts, books, movies, sounds, paintings, etc. LLM have learned just like a child from the rest of the world.

As to our knowledge, LLM do lack consciousness, or more specifically, fall short of several intellectual functions which constitute in combination our concept of conscious. Nevertheless, some first functions of awareness, such as self-reflection, are already available in LLM.

Considering all of the above, we can conclude that Technological Intelligence is a significant resource to implement the pendant of Biological Intelligence within a work process, which we might call a Virtual Coworker.

It is obvious that, albeit the lack of conscious functions, TI has tremendous advantages above BI in terms of availability, durability and scalability. The art of any TI implementation is to make it also a reliable and trustworthy resource within an organization. BI (Humans) and TI (Virtual Coworkers) have to trustfully work together. This is the specialty of NOVARION.

We understand in-depth how Artificial Neural Networks behave.
