PlenaryDiscussion:
Will innovations and ideas and concepts discarded as uneconomical now be kissed awake from their slumber ?
Quantum computers – problem solvers also for the world of energy ? At the moment, for example, one third of the power generated is lost in the transport of electricity. The ability to conduct electricity without resistance requires new materials, which could be developed using quantum simulators, for example.
09.00 – KeyNote: The Quantum Internet in the Data Center
Georg Gesek, CTO, QMWare
Modern applications such as Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics or complex real-time optimization solutions require previously unimaginable computing & storage power. Any semiconductor-based integration of the circuits required for this leads to massive energy conversions, which occur in the data center first as power input and a little later as waste heat. The only technology that seems feasible in this
century that is capable of breaking this relentless upward spiral is quantum computing. In this keynote, Georg Gesek will highlight the current state of quantum technology and give an outlook on when, what, and how quantum mechanics-based computing will become a reality.
quantum mechanics-based computing systems could become available for operation in data centers.
